Your comment tries to extrapolate this into something much different than what (according to your posting) they are asking. Also, one hardly needs to be "religious right" or "religious" or even "right" to expect to extend parental control. I understand that Hillary Clinton, despite her liberal recommendations for other peoples children, kept Chelsea on a tight chain.
