Georgia lawmakers want kids to be forced to report to their parents every single club they join at school. The purpose is to prevent gay kids from joining "gay-straight alliance" type clubs, which the lawmakers think are trying to "recruit" teens to the "homosexual lifestyle."
Lovely.
And yet one more example of how the religious right in this country has gone from resisting government interference with the family to demanding interference in the everyday lives of citizens.

I had to laugh a bit at this comment - expecting to have a say over your own children (you know - minors, those people under 18 who are still under parental control.) Your comment tries to extrapolate this into something much different than what (according to your posting) they are asking. Also, one hardly needs to be “religious right” or “religious” or even “right” to expect to extend parental control. I understand that Hillary Clinton, despite her liberal recommendations for other peoples children, kept Chelsea on a tight chain.
Thanks
Yeah, I agree with Rich. Why shouldn’t the parents know what the kids are doing? Isn’t that actually a better way to gain acceptance for homosexuality?
