Here’s a perennial topic: Why does SNL suck?

It’s an especially tough one for me these days, since I generally think Tina Fey is talented. Mean Girls is a well-written screenplay.

From the above-linked article, it seems that the problem is obvious: An overly large concern for mass appeal commercial viability.
