In the last week, I finally got around to taking in two major cultural touchstones — both of which I’m way behind the curve on: “Joey” and “The Passion of the Christ.”

Both were atrocities of roughly equal magnitude, but for totally different reasons.

One was full of corny dialogue, perpetrated stupid ethnic stereotypes and didn’t add much to the material it was ripped off from. The other was “Joey.”
