This, from ABC’s Note:
“An army of new voters received a startling call to serve recently,” when Rock The Vote “sent fake draft cards to nearly 640,000 e-mail addresses.” The e-mail read, “You’ve been drafted” and “contained an image of a draft card addressed to the recipient” warning, “real cards may be in the mail soon if the situation doesn’t improve.” Rock The Vote pol dir Hans Riemer “said the group was trying to inform its members about the limits of U.S. military forces, not persuade them to vote for a particular candidate” (Hennessey, Los Angeles Times, 10/10).
Riemer sounds so defensive. What party would anyone think his non-partisan, tax-exempt group is trying to get young people to vote for?
This is no more partisan than anything Rep. Charles Rangel has ever done, is it?
